Unal Trail in the Sequoia National Forest

Since it was 100F in Bakersfield (so we barely wanted to move) and even in the mountains it was forecasted to be 85F, we decided to hike a shorter/ easier trail. Thus, Vince picked Unal Trail in the Sequoia National Forest. Turns out 85F with shade is actually a super pleasant hiking temperature. We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery, and, as a bonus, we didn't see anyone else on the trail, so it was super quiet with just the sound of nature and our walking. Also, it didn't have any poison oak! What else can you ask for, right? 😁

I was trying to look like a bear but Vince said he didn't get that... 😝

After we finished the hike, we decided to explore this little road right next to the trail head, and we came upon a clearing, so we decided to take a little nap!

On our way home we drove next to the Kern River much of the way. It was sometimes raging, sometimes babbling, very pretty.
